“Lyonbank” is a grand country estate outside of Daylesford with a unique Tuscan inspired country farmhouse. The owner contacted us initially for assistance with the kitchen from which the project grew to assist with reconfiguring the laundry/ mudroom area and updating the main bathroom.

The goal was to make the space function more optimally and update the aesthetics to compliment the age and style of the home.

Materials were selected to feel as though they had always been there such as tumbled stone flooring - creating a lived-in feel whilst being robust for the farmhouse environment, and the joinery with a low-VOC hand painted finish to help make it feel more authentic and original to the farmhouse.

In line with our values around sustainability we took the view of re-using where possible, engaging a local furniture craftsman to repurpose the existing timber panels of the island into an improved version which was re-configured and painted, and also retaining the existing vanity in the bathroom, giving it a low VOC hand painted finish and staining the timber top.

The owner loves arranging sentimental and collected items so we also included a peg rail ledge in the laundry that allowed her to showcase her treasured collections.
