Inspired by classic American Farmhouse style, the architectural plans for this home were completed by Project Now Architects. We came on board after their initial draft, inputting into the joinery plans and selecting the finishes, fixtures, materials and furnishings to bring this project to life.

Family and Community were important values to our clients; having space to entertain large groups, playing and sharing music together, and space to accommodate adult children and their grandchildren were large considerations at the heart of the design response.

The original architectural kitchen plans were enhanced to elevate the client’s experience in using the space. Hidden appliances for a high-end look, comfortable seating, a custom-designed island and rangehood that reflected the home’s classic architectural style with generous and durable benchtops for effortless entertaining.

Elsewhere, elegant and timeless finishes were selected in muted colours. Large surfaces such as walls and floor were finished in Low VOC and formaldehyde free finishes, helping improve air quality. Lighting was also revised from the original downlight only plan to include additional functional and creative lighting to enhance ambiance, comfort, and practicality.

We also furnished the space and loved working with local craftsmen to create some custom pieces such as the large parquetry dining table and a custom rug from Australian rug designer Jenny Jones to ground the space. Beautiful, hard wearing pieces from local designers, destined to become heirlooms with time.
